4 Reminders About God's Love For You

A wise person once told me, "Don't let people's opinion about you, make you doubt God's love for you. They didn't create you, they didn't die for you and certainly they don't love you as much as God does. Love people  as God does but be wise". What can you make of this statement? Does it resonate with you, and why? (Would love to hear your thoughts).

Remember God has, is, and will always show you His love in many ways. God's love for believers and those who don't believe in Him is unconditional. Matthew 5:45 "He causes His sun  to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." Isn't that God showing love to all human beings whom He created? Does this show that God's love is indiscriminate?

4 Reminders About God's Love For You
1. His love will not allow you to perish if you believe in Him
John 3:16: For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

Picture a judge who is about to sentence a murderer to life in prison. All the evidence presented proved that the person is guilty. But due to the love and compassion that the judge has towards this person, he offers himself in their place.
This is exactly what God did. The 'world' is you and I. God loved you and me so much so, that He allowed His only Son to die on our behalf. This means that you are precious before God's eyes. He values you so much.

2. He laid down His life for you because of love
John 15:13: Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down His life for His friends.

If you were facing a life-threatening situation, who among your friends would take a bullet for you?
Jesus Christ took a bullet for you and me. He did this by coming to this world, endured shame, rejection and was crucified at the cross where He died like a sinner of whom He wasn't. Hebrews 12:2
Many questions arise from this action that Christ did on the cross for us. What questions may you have?

3. His love cast out all fear
1 John 4:18-21: There is no fear in love, but perfect love cast out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

What scares you the most? Personally, I'm scared of snakes, they make me shiver. Imagine a love that cast out all fears. This is what God's love does to one. So you may ask "Caroline if God loves you and you love Him back, why do you still fear snakes?" Well, this goes to show that I am not perfect and that there are some areas in my life that I need to surrender to God in totality.

Bonus
4. We Love because He loved us first
1 John 4:19: We love because He first loved us.

Wow, this is mind-blowing and humbling at the same time. We didn't start loving people or things out of ourselves, it was because God loved us first. Then we reciprocated that same love to others. We can't brag about this. Instead, we ought to love God with all our heart, mind, and soul- Matthew 22:37-38.

The Bible has numerous scriptures that speak about His love for us. Will you accept His love? You may have questions like 'why does God love me?' 'Why did He die for me?' 'What if I don't want to love Him back?' Well, these are genuine questions. Let me know what your thoughts are on them.

Remember,
God loves you so share the love.

Yours Truly,
Caroline Mokeira
